The Best Literary Cafés in Palma
If you're one of those who believe that there are few things better in the world than a good book accompanied by a coffee or tea... we have many things to tell you. Literary cafés are all the rage, and you don't necessarily have to read a book in them. Many of them have a great selection of board games to spend a fun afternoon in good company, music, monologues, and even video games.
La Biblioteca de Babel
Located at Calle Arabi number 3, it's the favorite spot for any bookworm. La Biblioteca de Babel is a large bookstore, wine bar, and café where almost any book is available to visitors. A good coffee, a delicious wine, and a book by your favorite author are a temptation for literature lovers. In addition, this lovely space has a terrace where you can soak up the sun while enjoying some of their specialties, and it offers daily events such as book clubs, creative workshops, and occasional musical performances. You can check their agenda to get an idea of all the activities, book presentations, courses, or publications that La Biblioteca de Babel has to offer.
Literanta Café
A while ago, it moved, and you can now find it at Calle Call number 4. Cafetería Literanta is another ideal hideaway to spend hours among books with a cup of coffee or a glass of good wine in hand. Most of the drinks are related to the novels on display, such as the Orient Express coffee, Picardía, or Mandala. You can sign up for any of the numerous writing workshops offered here and learn about any topic related to books. They also offer written poetry workshops and a book club.
Rata Corner
Rata Corner is an independent bookstore located at Calle de Antoni Marqués number 34. Here, you'll find a wide selection of books, vinyl records, and graphic works. The intention of this bookstore is to be much more than just a bookshop. For this reason, they have become a cultural dynamization space in the city and have discovered a new way to bring books closer to the public. They specialize in organizing activities with cultural figures such as Marta Sanz, David Trueba, or Llucia Ramis, and they have exhibited works by artists like Flavita Banana, Melata, or Error Design.
Café A Tres Bandas
Located at number 20 of Plaza Barcelona, it has become a reference point for all of Palma. Monologues, theater productions, exhibitions, concerts... Café A Tres Bandas is an endless source of artistic ideas to enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere with the best tapas and drinks. The name is well chosen because there are billiard tables here where true virtuosos of the game gather. They also have video games for those who prefer to interact with controllers.
Their beer is artisanal, and their tapas, as they define them, are eclectic. Breakfasts, sweets for an afternoon snack, snacks to take away... A space where everyone is welcome and worth knowing.
